NFNZ Fertility and Breastfeeding

Endorsed by the Midwifery Council of NZ for up to 3 points as Elective Education

Course Details:

  • Approximately 3 hours duration (dependent on number of attendees and level of prior knowledge)
  • Information pack provided, containing; handouts, research, activities
  • Certificates are provided to attending midwives

Course Content:

  • Introduction to Fertility Awareness & managing fertility naturally
  • Assessment of individual level of knowledge on fertility
  • Understanding a normal cycle, explaining the Sympto-Thermal method and recording a “normal” cycle
  • Interpreting the signs of a “normal” cycle
  • Breastfeeding & the hormonal response : how it affects fertility
  • “normal” cycle compared with breastfeeding response

Generally there are fees for these CME sessions, please contact your local educator to enquire with them directly.  However, Natural Fertility NZ have a limited number grants available for these CME sessions each year, if you are interested, then apply for a grant.
