Sponsorship support from natural health products company Blackmores will enable Natural Fertility New Zealand to spend more time providing fertility awareness and natural family planning information to individuals, couples and health professionals.
Under the yearlong agreement, Blackmores will sponsor Natural Fertility NZ Educators to attend conferences and expos throughout the country, such as the College of Pratice Nurses Conference held in Palmerston North early in May. At that conference, Natural Fertility NZ provided information about the services available to people who were planning a pregnancy and on fertility management.
"Natural Fertility NZ Chief Executive, Catherine Harris, says Blackmores' support enables the organisation to reach more members of the public and health professionals with information about how to maximise the chances of achieving pregnancy naturally; fertility management for avoiding pregnancy; and fertility management for breastfeeding mothers.
"Like many not-for-profit organisations, we struggle to get enough funding. It is vital to spend money on raising our profile at events such as conferences and expos, but this means we then have less to spend on working directly with our clients.
"Blackmores' support directly benefits women, men and health professionals by enabling us to use more of our funding for education and support," says Ms Harris.
Blackmores' New Zealand Marketing Manager, Rhonda Bennett, says there is an excellent natural health alignment with both organisations.
"At Blackmores we believe in a natural holistic approach to all aspects of health - including fertility and fertility management.
"We are also committed to social responsibility and are delighted to be supporting Natural Fertility NZ which is an organisation dedicated to making a positive difference to New Zealanders."
