Fertility Awareness Can Help You Become Pregnant
thm_consult_61cp.jpgApproximately 1 in 6 couples in New Zealand experience difficulties in conceiving. Knowing about your menstrual cycle can help, as conception is only possible for a few days each month. In many cases the knowledge gained by a couple who understand their own fertility can help them to succeed in becoming pregnant.

Natural Fertility NZ can Help You:

  • Recognise the signs of fertility associated with ovulation
  • Plan intercourse for your most fertile time
  • Communicate effectively with your doctor

What are the Major Signs of Fertility?

  • Cervical mucus and changes in the cervix show when ovulation is approaching and sperm will survive
  • A sustained rise in body temperature indicates that ovulation has probably occurred

How do I learn Natural Family Planning?
You learn from an accredited NFNZ Educator, who provides confidential, personal instruction in a Natural Fertility N.Z. Clinic or through our Distance Learning service.

Over two or more menstrual cycles your educator will give detailed information about how to recognise, record and interpret your signs of fertility, so you can decide the best time for intercourse. You can attend the clinic until you feel confident that you understand your fertility.

What are the chances of success?
Studies have shown that  face to face or distance service teaching of Natural Family Planning methods can help many couples to achieve a pregnancy. Some couples do have difficulties, where medical help is required and they are referred to a doctor or gynaecologist for further investigation. Should this be necessary, the charts you have kept provide a useful and accurate record of your menstrual cycle.

Is it Easy to Learn?
YES. Most couples learn very quickly to observe, record and interpret the signs of fertility.
The method is usually taught over 3 sessions and we provide 12 months free follow-up over the phone or by e-mail for clients.  NFNZ is a registered charity and we wish that we could provide our services free to everyone, unfortunately, our funding is not sufficient to do this so we have to charge fees for services - click here to see what they are.  However, in keeping with our charitable status we never turn anyone in need away.  If you need help please discuss this with your Educator at the time of making the appointment.
